Val Cook is 25% done with Kingdom of Claw (The Ashen, #2)

I am trying but I find myself daydreaming to read anything else. This book has potential and I can see why people like it. But hell. I am so bored. I will give it another 10% and then make my decision to dnf or not.

Val Cook is starting Kingdom of Claw (The Ashen, #2)

Only starting this because Clare insisted I don’t give up and it gets better. Points to the author for writing a recap chapter!

Okay. I don’t find this book scary like I was hoping it would be, but it is definitely picking up.

Still here only because I like the bad guy and apparently I like torturing myself.

I keep circling back to this book, trying to finish it. But I just find the main character to be insufferable and the rest of the main characters all fall flat to me. Like I am in a classroom watching really bad actors act but they all think they are the next big star. I think I just need to DNF this. Or skip to the last 15% and see if it wraps up okay.
