holy shmucks. you’re a damned good author, Mary. the shifts between relatively lighthearted nights and conversations to more emotional scenes are not abrupt, yet powerfully distinct. you could make the most boring interaction full of life. this really feels like Jayne’s story.

so my page number was wrong. also, I LOST this book, so you can’t call me a lazy slob. I have plans to finish this and the parable of the sower before September. Mary jam packed this book full of little anecdotes, small details that water her garden of world building, allusions and chronically online things. my dream is to write like her.

Incredible! A further glimpse into the FBI’s discrediting of black-led revolutionary movements (and the IRS??!?) as well as the radical political lifestyle many activists and bookstore owners would commit to.
