Leland Olds seems really interesting and it would be interesting to learn more about him but I enjoyed everything this book described about him. Really unfortunate how Johnson treated him.

Third chapter had lots of interesting history on the filibuster and the ways particularly southern senators used it.

The first chapter was extremely good. A long chapter about the history of the senate as a whole from what the framers envisioned it to be to times it held up to that vision, was an independent legislative branch, and how it was used for so very long to stop civil rights and many progressive ideals.
