Fun prequel to the original.

As the intro stated that 6 Word Memoirs have been used in the classroom. I’m one of those teachers, it’s a creative and fun way to get children express themselves. This book in the 6 Word series is very impactful because you see more similarities between different immigrant groups. They span generations but the common thread is: America is the place where you get a fresh start; for you and your descendants.

Beautifully written. I know it’s labeled a children’s book but I recommend to everyone. It’s an ode to life: the sweet and the bitter.

Loved it! It took me to a new world and has me pondering reality. Btw the Marquis is my favorite character in this book. I’d explain but I don’t want to leave spoilers.

I should have read it sooner. Gaiman has such a wavy with words. He paints pictures in your mind. He builds characters. It took me back to being a little girl: who explored, wondered about her parents.
