i'm scared. why is this already so ominous and dark. the atmosphere in this book feels like they don't have daylight.

as the anna of my family i am triggered as fuck. the real horror here is their family dynamic and how badly they treat her.

i was so excited for this book but now i'm actually just bored out of my mind and i think i will finish this out of spite.. we'll see

ugh, i loved the first two books in this series and i have trust in sarah adams but my gosh i did not realize this would also be enemies to lovers/academic rivals kinda deal and I am just so eternally bored with the genre. in ms. swifts words to you I can admit that I'm just too soft for all of this. gimme some friends to lovers cute romance for once, i need a break from bickering.

I'm sorry I have been MIA for the last two weeks. I started at a new job and I'm getting used to a whole new routine and life and it's been nerve-racking but also super exciting!! I'm getting back to reading again though and it feels good to be back ♡ Once I tackle my currently-reading pile I will move on to Iron Flame and Onyx Storm! :)

i'm enjoying this book so much! the premise is super interesting and i love the creepy, misty, slowly making you insane haunted house atmosphere it has!! our fmc is badass and the book is simultaneously exploring the state of an old post-colonialist mining town?? AHHH can't wait to finish this one.
