First two chapters in. It’s a cute little kids story so far I like it

Part 1 completed.
Part one was good but I don’t know if the characters’ motivations are very strong. Miria is motivated to cure this illness because of… her sisters she’s never met? That’s what I get from it at least. She’s generally a kind character but I think the author is trying to make her present self more jaded.

So far so good I just wish the author would stop spoon feeding me

The first chapter really hooked me but these last two lost me a bit. Something about the writing style is just making it seem so slow and not intriguing. It’s the start of the book so I’m not too pressed about it being slow but it’s a bit on the nose in terms of plot so far as well.

To be honest this is a terrible book to read when you have death related OCD but we persevere!!

Honestly still not super into the writing style. I felt very sad tho when Mateo visited his dad. That was actually the worst because he can’t even say goodbye.

Very tell little show. The chapters are very short and very to the point. It’s also a BUMMER but what did I expect lol

Honestly not really fuckin with the characters in this book so far. The writing style is also a bit flat but honestly it’s hard to get hooked into a book right of the bat so I’ll keep reading

I’m enjoying that it’s Elio now. I can forgive him for wanting this nice old man.

26 pages of the train scene… Aciman is always like this though. Very long scenes and very long chapters. Yet still captivating

Now that we are in the rising action, I’m enjoying the book a lot more. The lore is rich and well explained. It doesn’t feel like there’s lore dumps but that there’s lore in each sensory experience. I’m enjoying that piece.

A little too quick and on the nose so far. Every chapter heavily has to do with Sebastian Grimm and I’m not getting much else about our main characters life. I understand he’s bad at magic and that his father is forcing him to go to school. I get how the magic works. But also he seems to have an obsession with Grimm.

So far very much enjoying our resolution and am excited to read the ending
