james is a different story to huck finn:

twists and reveals are gone because they were not unknown to jim

when huck was doing a lot jim is often not, and vice versa, so pages are spent at different times

there are parts that do not align at all

some of jim’s actions have been removed to fit the way everett wants to portray james

This is not the Jim from Huck Finn; this is James from his own story
