yeah, this is a long book. But it is good.

Wow this is good.

I'm looking forward to more by Mr. Mann. This is a treasure trove of info; I love how he gets into approachable technical detail about the various aspects of these cultures.

Going to put this on the shelf for now. The first 100+ pages did the best job of putting these challenging concepts in reach.

Now I feel like I'm in the deep end of the pool. It is just getting too complicated for enjoyment. What I've read, though, I highly recommend.

Never understood updating my page status until I end up having to return a library book early :-/

Midway update: won't win any literary awards, probably, but fun. I am impressed by Conway's selfless detours to recognize others in the entertainment industry.

Some great lines: "Considerably less life awaited them in Gadshill. The house, in fact, was being drained of it before their very eyes."

Stalled out. Wasn't what I expected, but I imagine I will pick it back up. Easy to read in small bites.

Recommended if you're tiny or ninety!

gave up on this one. author tries to be so poetic that it just interferes with comprehension.

Really fascinating history... I am enjoying it thoroughly.
