Man Torrey is kind of a dick. I know they’re probably going for that “the shallow high schooler becomes a good person after hanging out with an outcast” thing, but I still don’t like her.

Why is the protagonist kind of a prick sometimes. I get her sisters dead but she seems so judgmental and snobby at times idk.

The puppies dying did not surprise me at all. Like this book is the one I’d expect the most to crush an even slightly hopeful moment in humanity. Now Im just waiting for the same thing to happen to him and Jasmine.

The puppies had me crying.

There’s this one instagram reel I saw once that was like “when the book starts to feel like a movie while reading” and wow. They couldn’t be more right.

Finally starting the Hunger Games part, the pacing so far has been very steady and pretty engaging.
