A really great story with parallels to real world Empires crumbling. I quite enjoyed the different perspectives in each section, and the world building was effective and seamless. Overall a great sci-fi experience. Also very much a product of its time. Little to no mention of computers or AI, a heavy emphasis on nuclear power, and still using paper for documents — you can tell this was written in the 50s. 10/10
