•Start of the “Hidden Room” Section:
>Oh I’m definitely getting “murder documentary rabbit hole binge watch” vibes from this, and I’m here for it. My interest is peaked, just hope it sticks the landing.

•Start of the ”The buried room” section:
>Thus far I’m enjoying the writing style of this book! As I read I visualize it as something akin to those late night murder documentaries. I also dig the addition of visuals allows you to kinda play along in the mystery and form your own ideas before they spell it out.

•Start of mother & child
>Thus far I think my ranking of the stories goes as follows:
1)Sisters
2)Husband & wife
3)The lovers

Here’s to seeing where I put Mother & child.

•Ok so you can’t travel back and change the future. BUT you can bring items from the past back to the future. I feel like that somehow creates a paradox at some level. Also the reason you can’t change the future is because even if you tried the universe would do everything in its power to make sure it was futile…. I’m so confused but also incredibly intrigued.

•The more I read this the more I feel like it’s not really “time travel” in the normal sense. With all the rules and being what they are & how it knows when to transport you to, makes this feel more it’s creating a pocket dimension using your memory. Call me crazy but as of now I don’t feel this these are really time travel stories.

>Start of “Husband & Wife”
•I have a lot of thoughts about the complexities of this cafe and its usage. Unfortunately, I need time to compile those thoughts lol

• The cafe has so many rules it could make a domain expansion blush. Regardless, the amount & nature of the rules is interesting. I can’t personally imagine how with that all, anyone would want to use this place.

•Everything this book as done thus far with its self introspective approach, has been amazing. Waiting on you to read this Rj, might finally have a book to talk about.

•I believe the question of would you rather understand your life & how it shaped you before heading into eternity. Or taking the risk to change everything even if it means your own existence, isn’t as easy of a choice to make in reality.

•Time is the one resource that we both somehow have plenty of but none at the same time. While I find Wilber’s constant want to change things regardless of the consequences a bit frustrating, I can’t bring myself to fully blame him. After all, when we look back on our lives at the end of the road who wouldn’t want to fix the cracks we left behind.

•I really enjoy when writers have an individual, normally the MC, be the one who judges their life/actions from a third person POV. It allows us to see how certain individuals justify themselves or how they come to terms with their consequences/actions

•One thing I’ve thus far enjoyed about Matt Haig’s books is that he doesn’t waste time with unnecessary fluff. In both Midnight library and this, you get just enough to make you care for the MC before they’re thrown into the fray.

Also I really like the nods to the midnight library in the beginning. They were to be expected but it’s not in your face which is nice :)

•All the ideas that Haig plays with in this book regarding the multiverse is just a chefs kiss. I think my favorite has to be the idea that while you’re taking the place of yourself, you’re also not in a sense. While it is you you’re taking over it’s a completely different you with their own relationships and thoughts. So in reality you begin to lose your sense of self.

•I adore this book! Cheers to my personal librarian Rj, you get points for knowing what fits my tastes.

•Just so we’re on the same page here. You can 100% visit another life of yours, which may include a fairly dangerous job. Then if conditions are met, leave that life and version of you in a situation that could lead to their death? That’s honestly horrifying.

•While you can imagine making thousands of different choices in life, you can never fully picture the eventual outcome. I find that both comforting and depressing.

•I love the way Nora’s short visits into her parallel lives are presented! Using the idea of “walking into a room, but forgetting why” is a nice touch. Works so much better then just “yea they just forget everything”

•Back to back dead cats, first Obsession now this. What are the odds?

•Start of chapter 24
-Not gonna lie, kinda had a reveal about one of the cast spoiled by the first episode of the tv adaptation. Just got a bit curious on how they adapted the inciting incident is all

•Start Of Chapter 219:
"I didn't invite you here to argue with me" - Jake

I don't think I've managed to hate a character so much in my life. The little addition of "With Me" just makes it so much worse, like who do you think you are?

•Start Of Part 2 (Hide & Seek)
-This book continues to be a slow burner, but I can see it starting to ramp up.

•To be fully transparent, this hasn’t hooked me as much as I thought it would. Granted I’m still early into it, but with even the second big clue I’m still feeling “eh” with it.

•Start of Chapter 4

-While this book definitely didn’t have as slow of a start as my previous read. I can’t say that it really helps keep me interested. Regardless gonna keep chugging along

Start of chapter #2:
•Coming off my previous book I hope this one can deliver the same experience. I can only hope that if I enjoy the book, the show adaptation will do it justice.

Quarter way through chapter 44:
•I’m conflicted now that all the cards are on the table and the twist has been revealed. I’ll have to finish the chapter and the book to make a full judgment.
