Introduction
The two superpowers of the late twentieth century used various forms of intervention to influence what became known as the “Third World.” The US and Soviet responses to the undoing of colonialism shaped how newly formed nations in Africa, Asia, and Latin America developed. Despite the end of the Cold War, the aftermath of these foreign policies still have a bearing in the politics of the present.
