Every single one of these traumatised icons deserves the peace they fought, sacrificed and died for. The family these characters formed is adorable and chaotic and hilarious. I’ll miss them all dearly. Long live the True Queens. Forever may they reign. In this world or the next.

Tory is a brilliant scheming bitch: defying the stars again and rallying an army of the dead to fight once more, finally ending this war. Shocking everyone in brilliant fashion with the return of the Savage King. She managed to bring her family together which is not only adorable but also hilarious: Hail continues to call Darius poor choice (while secretly being a proud father) while he calls Lance good choice.

These iconic chapters have earned the title of being my favourite battle sequence. Seth stepping into his role as leader of the wolves, warring against devastating impacts, losing his pack. My savage queens living up to their legacy. Tharix and Darius embracing their twisted relationship in a way I never knew I needed. Lance and Caleb being a very illegal badass coven while Dante commands the war in the sky.

This section is so bittersweet. Everyone’s preparing to die, spending what they believe as their last moments with the ones they love so dearly. Trusting each other to fight for freedom and protect them with everything they have. Rallying their power with words of war and hope.(I love how these books perfectly present places and people embodying a home and a family)

I love this whole book: between battles of war everyone finding fun in drunk pitball, Darius and Tory’s chaotic coffee fuelled marriage, the creation of Darcy’s ring, Caleb fighting for love with Seth and becoming moon mates, this found family protecting in each other in every way thinkable, knowing Hail and Melissa and Azriel are proudly watching their children fight for peace.

I love seeing my queens embrace their power, and fighting like warriors together. It’s so cute them going from having no family to having such a large extended one as well as Darius and Lance continuing to be the cutest characters ever.

It’s so so sweet how everyone (her friends, Larran, even the magical creatures of the island) protect each other and now Kiela as family.

The tree guardians (cloud bears) are so adorable and they definitely have a soft spot for Kiela now that she spent her night helping their island. I also find it hilarious how a few of the islanders are already suspicious about her connection to magic — Kiela isn’t subtle at all. She litrally made a tree sing.

I don’t even know why I’m surprised when my heart gets ripped out anymore
Raeve and Kaan found out about their daughter in arguably the worst way possible
Kaan’s in agonised tears
This entire situation is a disgusting disaster waiting to happen and Raeve’s losing her ever loving shit
The only silver lining being that Grihm bonded to the Great Silver Sabersythe who we hope is going to somehow save everyone

So my hearts utterly shattered into little pieces and all my favourite characters are undeniable fucked but at least we got to see Raeve completely decimating her enemies and Slatra being an incredible impossible badass

I’m torn between being beyond confused and thinking things are finally coming together but seeing as I’m only halfway through that’s probably wishful thinking

I’m heartbroken I’m confused and I’m scared for all of these characters who seem to have a fucking death wish

I love Kaan and Raeve so much their relationship is everything

I almost cried again that pretty much sums up this book so far and I honestly wouldn’t blame any of the characters if they just said fuck it and destroyed the world

I starting crying on fucking page 3 and I think I’m going to have a heart attack before I even finish the bloody book

I love how every single one of her relationships is getter deeper.

Ari and Myth are actually adorable, their bond is obviously stronger than the average. It’s so cruel though, how society could so easily take away a fundamental part of a dragon, something obviously so protected by their anatomy.

I’m hooked, this book has such unique concepts and it’s so bittersweet. I’m already learning to love characters, hate others, and learn quotes by heart.
