This is gonna be the general theme of the book, but as a gamer you really take for granted how difficult it is for any game to be made. That said I’m REALLY enjoying the background and history for the games being covered, in this case: Pillars of Eternity

Quintus was the guy we were looking for all along? Didn’t expect that. There’s been a lot of great stuff that’s gone on in this book, but so far the Calypso chapter is the one that left the biggest impact on me. I think a lot of it has to do with how tragic her story is, and how you feel for her and Percy because you can tell they’d be so good for each other, but it just can’t happen for him. The end comes

Each challenge feels more insurmountable than the last, and now we’re losing people (for now)!!

Really enjoyed the chapter where Bianca comes back to chat. Yeah she’s been dead, but for me this chapter is where it really felt real, I’m sure in some ways like how it did for the characters. Feels like the first time you can recall this series being that serious.

Can’t wait for the next read.

These Demi gods are much stronger than I (physically and mentally) because I would not be able to be underground for as long as they have 😭

Adventure starts this next chapter

Great start to the book, as you’d expect by now. I enjoy that often times Percy is the last to know things, so as readers it keeps the intrigue high as we wonder what’s going on and why Percy hasn’t been told yet.

Plus we got Nico chasing him down potentially? Uh oh…

Such a good chapter. Is Luke 💀? Percy really is that guy! Annabeths dad the goat?

We find out who “The General” is, along with who Zoë’s dad is( General a.k.a. Atlas). Great scenes with Annabeths family, story is just 🔥🔥

Bianca gone.. Zoë lore? Great fights at the junkyard and now at the damn. Some really good chapters lately, can’t wait to see it unfold more!

Pan’s presence felt for the first time in millennia?!

Battle with the Nemean Lion was cool, but the real interesting stuff to me right now comes at the end of the chapter with Percy’s dream about Riptide and its origins. Zoë is responsible for its origin?

So far it’s a solo Percy adventure… I like that quite a bit given what we’ve been used to in the past 2 books. It’s only getting better from here.

The tone to the book feels the most serious of the series by far, and I love it. You get the sense that the series is maturing along with Percy. As the threat gets more serious, you feel how big the stakes are. All that to say I can’t wait to see what the actual adventure of this book is, and the Titan’s curse reveal. It begins next chapter!

Ohhhh oracle on the beach? Prophecy? COOKING NOW

Not taking anything away from the last book but the introduction to this story/quest is much better than last book. Maybe it’s because it’s annabeth who’s in peril and not Grover, plus the introduction of Hunters/di-angelos etc, but it just has been much more compelling than Sea of Monsters. Incredibly interested to see where it goes

New book so new adventure!

Really really enjoy how everything has played out since Anabeth getting caught by Polyphemus. I know I compare it to the show often (that’ll stop with the next book), but it just feels like the show changed a decent bit about how the ending played out and I prefer this way much more.

I’m just such a fan of this series, such a fun read. Excited to see how it ends because I only have the shows ending as my point of reference

Percy is so OP. He can control a whole ass pirate ship by himself?!

Ares is already a shitty dad, but potentially abusive too? Send him to Tartarus. Time to see where Percy wakes up

Did the next chapter say they would be with Confederates?! I sure hope the gang shows the proper amount of hate and vitriol towards them

Makes me wish we could’ve gotten a full chariot race. Annabeth as usual saving the day though with her quick thinking.

Tyson hard carries against the Giants at the beginning. Wish they had kept that for the show.

After reading the book and seeing the choice Percy makes to come back for his mom because he could never ask his friends to sacrifice themselves for him; it makes me hate the movie so much more for the route they take. What a emotionally mature decision for 12yr old Percy to make. #GOAT

The stint in the casino didn’t last as long as I remember but that isn’t a bad thing
