The chapter begins with the birth of John F. Kennedy.

Learning about Patrick Kennedy immigration to the new world during the Irish potato famine, he was from Dunganstown Wexford Ireland he was the third born so being from a well off family that wasn’t affected by the famine as bad he wouldn’t be inherit any land so he moved to the new world 1849 arriving In Boston he would die 9 years later leaving a wife and 4 kids due to terrible conditions of Boston at the time.

I had to bring in outside references and google the lack of a mention of Ty Carter (White platoon sergeant )and Clinton romesha (red platoon PSG) it’s interesting to see this book correlate and happened when an American soldier goes AWOL and is captured in Afghanistan and it does show the effects of a struggling outpost gets even further from basic supplies.
