man. that shit got me. that’s a good story i think i need to reread on a semi regular basis

just finished “mothers”
was a rough start for me, couldn’t get stuck to it at first, then started understanding it more and got hooked. ended up crying during the last page. something about the fantasizing about the future in that house, the future that she knew wouldn’t ever happen due to such a painful past, and the way she talked to/about those kids that never were born- damn

finished ‘inventory’
i really like how this one was written, the style. the concept of the writer taking inventory of her life among a pandemic killing the world. and that despite the pandemic happening, the main focus was still partners and people she’s had relations with. interesting little story

just finished ‘the husband stitch.’
damn. that’s kinda as much as i think i can say really.
very real representation of what it is to be a woman in a heterosexual relationship in these days and just under the patriarchy as a whole, too. intense

the first journal was good. the way she writes about sapphic love and yearning feels so accurate and just, real.

it’s gotten quite addicting. at the end of each chapter i just want to know what story is next

i feel really seen by this book and her relationship with her sister/parents.
i think the drafted letter to her sister would be good for me to read from time to time, as a reminder to not be so, hyper vigilant? like that all the time.
the letter to her best friend immediately after that one crushed my heart

i wasn’t expecting this to start out with versions of a suicide note, but i’m really into it so far. the main character makes a younger version of myself feel seen and related to. i don’t want to put the book down but im getting too sleepy to read further today

getting more interesting

two chapters in, i like the writing style so far

was gifted this and wanted to like it. saw the “violence and sexual assault” warning at the start, tried it out, quickly understood where the SA probably comes from with the set up of her getting taken to live at this place as one of this man’s ‘girls’ but where i truly drew the line was violently killing the lil dog. cannot kill the dog. will not be reading further i can’t get past it 😭 no thank youu

super cute book 🥹 i’m loving what i’m learning, but the start was kind of rough. a lot of focus on terminology and a more technical writing style had me struggling a bit at first, but it’s getting more enjoyable as i go on. still something to be read in small doses just due to writing style (for me at least)

how big do the bones have to be to snap them in half and still be large enough to impale a giant worm and in that case how does a human break such large bones

oh this feels like it’s gonna be a hard read ahhhhhhhhhhh

okay i’ve come across some of the spicy bits now so im understanding what people were talking about with this book. the story and world feel more solid now n really immersed in the world, i really like this lil world

literally just wanna sit n binge this book till it’s done now, im so invested in annabelle’s story and why everyone’s so connected but im so sleepy aHHHHHHH

so many similarities to beauty and the beast. the story is unraveling nicely though, authors creating a cool world

got sucked into this book quickly and have really enjoyed it. i don’t normally like books where the chapters switch POV but im really enjoying seeing the two different storylines play out at the same time. so far, i feel like this could be made into a really good movie

not quite what i was expecting? slow start in my opinion but it’s creating a cool story/world
