This sucks. The FMC is a victim of grooming and emotional manipulation, along with being locked in a cage. Midas damned her making her his favored, painting a target on her back when he swore to "protect" her. And Rip must be a terrible men if the author had to make the other men groomers, rapists, misogynists, and perverts.

This book sucks. The FMC is a victim of grooming and emotional manipulative intimacy. The King gave the FMC the gold touch and painted the very same target in her back he promised to "protect" her from. And the MMC and main love interest must still be a terrible man if the author needed to make every other man in the book rapists and perverts to make him look good.

This is so SLOW and the world building sucks.

This is the biggest struggle read of my life.

I HATE THIS. I genuinely hate this. Nothing has happened for a majority of the book except for a King getting killed. All of the men in this book are so misogynistic and gross. None of the characters are likable to me. I love a good villain, but all of these villains are just gross perverts that don't have any redeeming qualities.

Not a fan so far. Auren, while I understand the abuse that she's endured at Midas' hand, is so insanely naive. She loves to put herself in danger then pour as others have to deal with the consequences of it. I also don't like how much she challenges Digby. I think she'll end up getting him killed by doing something stupid and putting herself in harms way.

This is SO SLOW. I feel so bad for Auren. She was groomed as a teenager by an adult and taught that entrapment is love instead of affection and emotional connection. Midas has so far made nothing but empty promises. Saying he'll protect her but just keeps her in a cage like an animal.
