Both of the characters are going crazy in the library.

Livira is getting the picture on how society views her and they have entered the first chamber of the library. I think Evar must been located in another chamber and that is where he is trapped. The Solider didn’t want him getting to the door.

Evar and his siblings with their “parents” are trying to find out more about the library and why “Escapes” are coming out of the Mechanism and why they are getting stronger. Livira has been given a job at the library by a man named Yute. She is taken under the wing of other trainees of the library in the city.

Evar just nearly died to protect the Assistant which is like a mother but seems like her and the Solider are robots of some kind but they don’t have the language for that type of technology.

We meet the male character and he seems to be trapped in the largest library of this world. He has 4 siblings but one has died and they can’t find his body due to the vastness of this place. The girl has made it to the city and is getting her job.

The names are pretty weird right now but I’m hoping that most of them are irrelevant to the main plot since we are still in the beginning. The sabber is kinda hard to picture cause it’s both described as a man and monster.

Almost done and Scout just confronted her father about the issues she has about the way he conducts his business. I wonder if she and Hank will end up getting married. Will Scout conform her views to that of her home town?

I wonder if the Cunningham that runs the ice cream store at the finches old house is Walter who went to school with Scout. Jem and Hank really care about Jean Louise and try to protect her in every aspect

Uncle Jack just explained why racism in the South needs to stick around for a little longer due to people having a hard time moving on. I understand why people want it they don’t wish to be the lowest man on the pole but was this how people really thought. Jean Louise is in shambles over this.

So we get to the problem about how everything is changing and her perspectives on the people around her are changing due to the social issues in the South. She goes to the people who raised her and deals with her emotions only for them to get upset again.

So the problem has not been introduced so don’t understand the conflict other than the one that is happening in the time period of the civil rights movement. We see that Jean Louise doesn’t want any to change but much has already changed in her life. Such as WWII and moving to NYC. I wish we knew what her job was?

Spoilers: So Jen Finch dies and now there is this boy Henry who “dates” Scout or Jean Louise while she is in town for 2 weeks. Atticus at 72 is still working and his sister Alexandria lives with him full time.

Marie and her uncle make it to Paris and wait for her father to appear. She plans on going to school. Berlin is captured and prisoners are starting to be released.

Werner is now dead due to a land mine while he was recovering from the flu. His sister got a letter telling her two places where he could be buried. He did in fact save Marie life due to his childhood of listening to her grandfathers radio station. The Russians raped his sister since that’s just what they do apparently.

Getting close to the end and the main characters are about to meet. I found the Netflix show about this so I’m excited to watch it soon.

The gem dude has figured out who has the real diamond which is such a weird plot line but it’s fine.

The Germans are desperate they are sending younger kids to war so that they have boys. Werner is now sent to war at 16 and is not feeling the pride in his country that others are feeling. Marie and her uncle have joined the French resistance and are using the radio to get messages out to the allied powers

Half way through and loving the jumping back and forth. Some of the German names have me confused about who wants what but starting to get the hang of it.

The resistance in France is starting with little acts of rebellion by the older women in the town. I wonder if they will get caught?

Werner feels trapped in his role in the German army and doesn’t feel the way the regime wants him to but he doesn’t stand up for what’s right. Marie misses her father. I wonder if he is going to make it to the end of the war? I had a bad feeling when he left to go back to Paris.

So happy to get back into this book.

Almost done. Mr. Lockwood is better but now he’s leaving. I barely understand how he is relevant but apparently he is. Good riddance to him.

How is Heathcliff an endearing character? The dude is forcing people to marry so that he can have control over his dying son because of a vengeance that is almost 20 years old at this point.
