Eve > Recent Status Updates

With The Necromancer's Reign hopefully coming in a few weeks, I've started revisiting the last few books in the series. I've only read Blood Omen, The Necromancer's War & The Edge of Fate, and I've only read them once each, so now I'm listening through the audio versions of them. I love this series so much. I'm kind of hyped about the last book! :D

I didn't think there would be any more books in this series, so this was a nice surprise. I'm not sure why I didn't think of Lyric and the fact that he hadn't had a book yet. Silly me.

I should be sleeping, but instead I'm sitting here teary-eyed and listening to Ruelle. This book... :’)

I'm just going to finish this chapter...or maybe a few more chapters...

This was not what I was expecting. Kenneth is not a brat. He's systematically abusing his power and sexually assulting the staff. The book lover in me doesn't really want to finish this book. The part of me that insisted on getting a history degree wants to finish it and properly analyse it.

That one click buy function in the kindle app truly is a "one click" thing. I accidentally pressed it when I was turning off my screen...I guess I'm reading Holden by Kate Hawthorne a lot sooner than I had planned to. XD

I'm just happy it was a book I actually planned on reading at some point. And not a super expensive one. Doh...

I usually make a "toplist" every month with the books I enjoyed the most. It doesn't have to be a new book, only a book I read that month and haven't read before. It's not a set amount of books, just the ones that I loved a bit more or that felt extra special.

Usually I end up with 5-10 books, but the past ten months it's been 3-4. For August the list was 9 books. It was a great book month and I had so much fun. ♡

That didn't take long. I still wouldn't mind a book about "Ted", but I'm invested in Bee & Tom now. :)

It's a good thing that I know these characters from Merry Measure, because they are not making a great first impression. So far I like "Ted" * the best and almost wish I could follow him as he goes about his day, rather than go on holiday with Bee & Tom.

Then again, I know these guys. So I'm sure it'll turn around soon.

* Ted, the random one-night stand guy who's actually named Oliver. Seems like a nice guy.

I'm finally making some progress on this book again.

This book is not at all what I expected. It's very funny, but I don't think it's meant to be. I keep laughing and cringing and I'm not sure I'll be able to finish it (I don't do well with cringey things). I'm not giving up yet, but I've had a few "I can't do this" moments. At the same time, I'm curious to see how this train wreck of a situation will turn out.

It's finally here! I've been waiting for a year, and it ended on a cliffhanger.

Seems like it's also been a year in the story, since the end of the previous book, so the cliffhanger doesn't really matter at this point. But I'm still excited to see what happens next!

I'm not sure if it's that my mood and the book isn't vibing or if it's something else. Whatever it is, I'm realising that this is going to take me a while to finish and that's okey.

This book is significantly longer than the previous ones and it's also taking me a longer time to get into it.

I've got so many books going, more than I should. But it's Royce and Sawyer. And spending five and a half hours listening to Tristan James sounds like a really good plan atm. ☺️

I liked book 3 a lot, but I'm starting to realise that I don't fully remember the end of the book. Time to revisit the last chapters of "The Court of Mortals" before I keep going with this one.

As the nerd and gamer I am, the glossary chapter at the start of the book made me happy. Or to quote Alexis Hall, it was "disproportionately satisfying". 😄

This really doesn't line up with my reading plans for the month. But I've been looking forward to this one since October and it just came out in audio today. So Sawyer & Royce gets to cut in line. 😄
