Ok so far this entire first act is beat by beat the same as The Winter King by CL Wilson. The main characters names even rhyme?? The writing is good but the plot feels really copy pasted. Going to keep reading and see if it diverts at all.

Really loving the characters and the writing so far. Living up to the hype!

Wow, I loved Song of the Forever Rains, but this one blows it out of the water so far. Niya is an amazing character, and … swoon … the magical pirate captain! Devouring the audiobook of this, which is fantastically done with both a male and female narrator for the different POVs.

If you need me I’ll be sucked into this world of Unicorns and adventurers.

I was thoroughly enjoying this book but was unable to finish it before my library hold was up! I had other reading obligations, and will be coming back to it once I am able to check it out again :)

I am eating this book up. I wish I had the time to sit and devour this in one sitting because a book hasn’t hooked me in this much in a couple of months.

As much as this pains me because I love Elise Kova and all her other books, the pacing in this is way too slow for me, and the characters seem too flat. I loved the concept and the beginning sucked me in, but I’ve been struggling since about 30% or so I think. I may come back another time, but for now I need to let this book go 😭

I find it interesting that in this futuristic novel, the authors chose a date that had already passed for us present day people as the start of WWIII. 😂.
