I think the writing is getting easier to read. It’s still really challenging at times. But I’m starting to view it with more whimsy and joyousness than just confusion. Jeanette seems like she was a sweet child who didn’t get the world she deserved. And it’s very sad to read but you can’t help but feel joy for her childish view on the world and things.

I’m really liking the way this book is written! It’s choosing to be romantic from a realistic point of view. Which I find very hopeful and beautiful. I’m also feeling very seen with a lot of these opinions.

The writing can be very confusing, but I’m going to continue and hope it’s a me problem and not a book problem
