Alrighty, did not expect this... This character's alive?? Let's blame it on the fact that I've been way more lost in the last few chapters

So conflicted on this book, there was a version of me who would've loved it to death as a tale of resilience, and by its similarity to my parent's journey. Present me though? All I was seeing was class struggle, and every couple of chapters I was catching myself fact checking stuff which made me resent the dad's and in turn the author's implied view on several subjects 🥲
