“And you’re telling her that she’s such a good girl, you’re proud of her, and you love her, and she believes you.” to ‘You’re like a father to her’ is crazy. Love the philosophy embedded in this book and much of the social commentary the author is making thus far!!!

Moments where I feel like Sally Rooney is in my head: "I keep encountering this person, who is myself, and I hate her with all my energy. I hate her ways of expressing herself, I hate her appearance, I hate her opinions about everything... Confronting this fact makes me feel I am already dead." It's just refreshing to read from the perspective of someone having the same thoughts as I am.

I really relate a lot to Alice’s character so far (Chapter 2)
