Porfiry is introduced to Raskolnikov, they discuss Rodyas article in the newspaper regarding: ordinary and extraordinary people and their relationship with the law. Porfiry is a very smart character and is quite suspicious of Rodya. He attempts to trick him into revealing knowledge about the night of the murder which only the murder would know. Instead, rodya was aware enough to recognise this trap from Porfiry.

Raskolnikov attempts to save marmeldovs life. He’s met with gratitude from the man’s family. On his way home he stops by Razumikhin’s house. Razumikhin walks him home discussing how zoimsov and zamyotov are suspicious of Raskolnikov and believe he’s insane.

Spending 3 or 4 days in and out of consciousness, scarcely recognising who had been visiting him. He meets his sisters fiancé and immediately questions his intentions. Raskolnikov shoves his friends help back in his face. He also may as well have admitted to Zosimov his crime.

Upon returning home, he fell asleep and dreamt that his land lady was being beaten by the super intendant Ilya petrovich from the police bureau. In fact he dreamt it so vividly that when awoken by Nastenka he inquired about the beating which took place. He slept for many days

Raskolnikov is terribly feverish and exhausted from his guilt. The morning after his crime, he received summons from the police, which only deepened his fear of being caught. To his relief the summons were only regarding his debt to his landlady. But during his time at the police bureau. He became unconscious, and upon regaining consciousness he mentioned to the police, he was sick yesterday and left the house at 8pm

How the drunken man with his horse, ‘owned’ his horse, and repeatedly beat his horse/thoughts, Convinced his actions were true. But the younger version of Raskolnikov shows that deep down he knows the horror of these senseless actions.

Marmeladov rambled on drunkenly for I think 4 or 5 pages straight about his affairs
The main character Raskolnikov left a few Coppers on the window sill for the drunk man’s family after dropping him off from the drinking den.
Raskolnikov feels guilt for considering stealing keys from an old lady to break into her dresser and chest within her apartment.

Despite the story being based on a regular man from the early 20th century and his mundane regular life in Colombia. The story doesn’t seem to drag nor have I found myself struggling to maintain attention to the story.
