I completed the Wind’s Twelve Quarters and began the Compass Rose
. 12 Quarters is much more straightforward science fiction and easier to read, while the stories so far in Compass Rose are more symbolic, subtle and implied.
I like her writing a lot, and some short stories are better than others, but I will continue reading Le Guin’s work.

Starts off interesting enough, but didn’t love it. Writing was somewhat stream of consciousness and not very engaging.
Very plot driven, and once I learned the secret of the towers, the plot dropped off.

Interesting book. Fun sci-fu themes and plot.

However, the author is sometimes a little bit lengthy and unclear. She also uses words I’m not familiar with often.

Well written and very compelling narrative. Despite being historical nonfiction, the books almost as an adventure. Easy to get lost in the ancient world that the author recreates.

Well written, informative and entertaining. It introduces a lot of characters, which is a little bit hard to keep track of. I’m currently also reading Cleopatra, which is also historical nonfiction, albeit a very different time period and historical character.
