Approximately 3/4s through book 1 (of 6).
And really enjoying it thus far!

Serviceable world-building, likeable characters, and a no-nonsense, fast-paced writing style all contribute to a fun read.

Annihilation (Book 1) is surprisngly Lovecraftian in so many respects..

I still have a soft spot for the original New Warriors lineup...

What a complelling idea for a series.
I'm really digging this thus far!

On Kindle Daily Deal today; how can I turn it down at that price?

Excited to be going back to Bean farm. These were some of my favorite books as a kid, and they hold up pretty well more than 50 years later!

Hit the 100 page mark, still not really invested yet....

Back to my chronogical re-read of the Shannara series....

So far, I'm finding/reading considerably more 5-star books this year than in years past.

So, another Non-Book-Related Rant...
We went to see Star Wars last night, at the "Discount Tuesday" showing. And Disney won't let theatres discount Star Wars tickets?!?!

Erin Evans knows how to write fantasy fiction! One of the best new D+D novelists out there, and Farideh is an intriguing protagonist (Heroine?)

On a non book-related note... Been spending a lot of time lately on my PS4 playing "Life is Strange", and it's TOTALLY capitivated me . Anyone else playing this?

What can I say? I love the goofy old Marvel " Monster" comics! (Fin Fang Foom FTW!)

Yet another book I've been putting off for WAY too long....

Not sure why it took me so long to get around to thise series...

THis is in response to my resolution to read more classics & non-fcition this year.

While these books are not great literature. they are pretty engroissing, and the author/translator really knows how to turn a phrase!

My New Years resolution is to become a more well-rounded reader, and step out of my comfort zone even more.

WHile I've done OK in 2015, I'd like to expand my horizons even further in 2016.

And I wanted to wish a "Happy New Year" to all my Goodreads friends! :)

I've been putting off reading this series forever.

I read and liked the "Owl" trilogy weel enough, but it didn't make me want to rush out and grab his next series.

Fantastic stuff this far, and the author knows his Lovecraft. (It's neat that each chapter is titled as an allusion to a HPL story!)
