Be suspicious when everything seems resolved and there's 100 more pages left, ALWAYS be suspicious

Low-key I think the author took several ideas from Tumblr and didn't credit them, I checked the acknowledgements and no credit to Tumblr at all, plus she worked on the book in 2017. If it takes me (who isn't even on Tumblr) to look at this and be like 'yeah I read a post about this exact premise' the author didn't change all that much about it for me to clock it *that* quickly as soon as it's introduced.

I'm already kinda noticing that the way the author talks about the MC's autism makes me think she needs to work through her own feelings of her autism because of the negatively-connotated words she uses to describe simple habits (negative in the sense that she's kinda echoing the thoughts and feelings of others throughout her life and is still projecting their feelings in her work)

It's pretty good, I'm having fun

I've had three stories here at least I have rolled my eyes at, I'm grateful to Marshall's that I only had to pay 10$ for this edition

I LOVE a good poetry book that challenges the way I write my own poetry, even better that this is an anthology, I get to hear more than one voice!

I only read one mystery story that made me roll my eyes, I guess that's a good sign????

Honestly I'm really liking this, I can't believe I'm halfway through already!

I was starting to doubt the book being good but I should have known better than to doubt my Queen Evarina Maxwell, especially on pride month

Still really into this, look forward to seeing how the next 3rd develops

Reading more, I have more faith that my interpretation of the text is along the lines of what Dostoevsky was thinking when he began to write this piece after his stint in prison

The Return of Sherlock Holmes was pretty good but I'm still noticing those editorial mistakes

Honestly I'm kinda going into this book with the lens that Dostoevsky got its inspiration from the people and the stories they had from his time in prison though idk if this was written before or after he went to prison

The Valley of Fear was the most interesting mystery by far though the latter half is a bunch of shorter stories like in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes installment

The Hound of Baskervilles was intriguing and I liked that it was mostly Watson doing the investigative work that he learned from Sherlock for a good chunk of the book

A Study in Scarlet was super interesting but the Sign of Four is pretty racist and somewhat misogynistic, I have warned everyone appropriately

This is still so good and so worth the pick up if you can get your hands on a copy

It's people like Sinead Morrissey who really make your own writing feel inferior

This first book was good though just slightly sexist but I blame it on the time. I'm slowly getting better at solving these mysteries though

Almost done with "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" definitely would put this in order as the third book in the series to read

Honestly a lot of Charlotte's Points in Women and Economics are also found on our (relatively) modern day Tumblr posts. I find it fascinating that the discourse may have been tweaked but the core points still stand

While there is a touch of misogyny in the stories so far, I do find the mystery entertaining

The Bohemia story with Adler was alright

It's still a 3 star to me

Honestly the more I think about it the more this feels like a solid three maybe 3.5 star read. It's not life changing but it's also not writing scooped from the silt of Hell. It's entertaining.

I still think I can see where this ends but this guy is being dumb in an interesting way
