Read a decent chunk of this for my Major Writers studies class. King is the major writer and I’ve never been a huge fan. Like always, it brushes the surface of interesting ideas and resorts to standard “Kingisms” such as psychological horrors manifesting as grounded or physical monsters/beasts. The characterization and setting is really well done, I suppose.

Love this so far. Very culturally accurate and representative. Wish I read this in high school, truly. Sánchez captures brilliantly the torn feeling of being a second generation immigrant. An in-between. Too ambitious for your family even though they lent their own lives down for your opportunities. It was never my fault. Gonna make me sob I’m sure.

Getting through it slowly but surely 😅. I do love this book but it’s leisure leisure reading for me and I’m just so busy or have other required readings to do before I can sit down with this one.

Love the scenery descriptions and just so jealous of this type of life. I know it’s very idealized but I wanna live off the land in the middle of the woods somewhere.

Past couple chapters have been really crazy. I can’t believe how vile Heathcliffe is in how he treats everybody. Catherine’s death certainly changed every single character. It was nice to hear about how everybody changed following that and how intensely. Interested to see where it goes.

I love the landscape descriptions and it’s a nice children’s book about navigating freedom. Outdated content and disappointing racism though.

Really into it from the first few chapters. Very charming, wholesome and beautifully written. Also there’s an adorable kitten!

Love this! Very compelling writing and themes. Really doesn’t feel like a young adult book to me at all.

Love so far. The language is so beautiful and descriptive and the dialogue is poetic and gorgeous. I like how animated the weather and landscape is with emotion and feeling. I’ve been hooked ever since Nelly started telling her story.

Like this so far! Everybody’s so rude which I’m here for but I also don’t like any of them. The scenery seems so nice and serene. I’m shocked at how unhappy everybody is.

I like this a lot so far. Very interesting and well written. Having trouble with coming up with stuff to talk about in class thought so I hope something more complex happens so I can ask a question about it.

Reading this for one of my college classes this semester. Seems good so far.

Getting interesting!

I like it. The type of poetry is really not my preference but the story is certainly moving and relatable. Some of the poems are amazing.
