how the FUCK did that movie waste so much time dragging the plot out and STILL only reach the halfway point of the book???? it’s actually pissing me off that a well done movie along similar lines to the one emerald fennell made could’ve been good and she just sold the bag so fucking hard. doesn’t help that margot robbie was a horrible choice for catherine

put a hold in on this with the library back when that bucket of nuclear waste movie came out and finally just got it

not as bad as i thought it’d be but still should not have won a pulitzer lmao

nervous for this one. have heard some mixed things and any time a white boy gets to ask himself “why are different peoples different” it’s a cause for caution. he does a decent job heading off some concerns in the preface but since he’s not a historian by training i’m a bit concerned for since academics tend to be silo’d and the results of out of field research aren’t always great.
