It’s called a slow burn, but I feel the story is flying fast.

Immersing myself into this world building

I’m gonna throw this book at the wall. WHAT?!

I need it to start getting a little thicker, deeper, more connected. I feel like there’s a whole lot of games after games going on with very very little plot at all. The plot is getting lost on me. So far the plot is “there may or may not be a cure?” I need more depth.

Okay, I’m into it now. I think I’m going to like these devil “games” more than the first book actually

Sorry but this is gonna be a DNF for me.

I still strongly dislike the FMC. I did not like her in the first book, and she has yet to redeem herself.

Lacking in connections between characters, not enough detail in the plot and storyline. It’s thinly based and lots of repetition.
The creativeness in the forest creatures is nice. But the story itself is lacking.

“When I cut you open, all I’ll find is that we match”.

I really think this is going to be my first blown away five star read of the year.

This book is giving and giving.

A mysterious invitation to a spooky university located on a spooky island; curious parasites and an ominous magic worse than witches. Okay, finally found my mood read.

I just really don’t like Genevieve. She rubs me the wrong way. Get gone girl.

If anyone reading at this point still thinks it’s ‘a heart and a key’ that Blackwell is needing. Open up that creative mind of yours.

Who? Why? The plot is thickening.

My thoughts are this: Ophelia is fighting her way through these Devil made trials all because she is trying to get to her sister... erm. Wrong. Ophelia does not even have solid concrete proof that her sister is even there, in Phantasma. Ophelia is playing this game because she WANTS to. She is an adrenaline junkie and fear makes her feel alive. If she happens to find her sister, that’s just a plus.

I’m sweating. I’m fidgeting. I can’t stay still.
The rush. The trill. The menace of the game.
The menace of Ophelia.

This book is going to mind f**k me.

How sweet.

It’s such a cute little whimsically charmed book

This book is so REAL for those of us with social anxiety and low self esteem.

It’s written for the “cozy” genre readers. Not something I have ever picked up before. It’s not exciting, dangerous, nor fast paced. But it’s filling the rainy day.

No surprises or twist here. You can spot these “twists” from miles away. Every family apparently has their own set of eye color, and it’s a very specific trait that flows for 500 years. And the author sure does like to mention eye color. So unfortunately it also makes you able to clearly see everything for what it is before it’s reveled

Finally it’s getting somewhere. It’s getting a little better. But 300 pages of reading before it gets “better” isn’t much
