What an odd book. So far Titus has been born, and we’re getting a lay of the characters, though I couldn’t say where it’s going yet

What an interesting book, very flowery language. Reading about the author really helps to flesh out the background of the story, though I can already see this being a little bit more of a slog from the language, but so far it’s interesting

Man what a reveal! I’m not done yet of course, so I’ll hold my comments, but gosh! I had suspicions it was this person, but not enough to go off of to confirm or deny. I will admit though, it saddens me it’s them, I don’t want to lose them as a character for what I’m hoping (?) will be the next one in this series, they add a well roundedness to the cast

I love the balance this book strikes with the tone, from a comedy of errors that balances these rich characters, the struggle of the servant class, and interpersonal relations of high society, it’s all done very well

I enjoy inspector Jarvis as a character. Being this over the top version of Sherlock Holmes is fun, just this over-observant fop of a man who could not solve a crime to save his life, it’s nice

Big fan of this set up, the characters are great, the murders fun, big fan so far

Good setup so far, we’ll see whether it plays into or subverts the murder mystery stereotypes

Something tells me I’m going to feel worse for Piranesi the further along we go. Though I’m very happy at the way this story is heading, the House is interesting as a Backrooms-esque in-between place based on memory, and the characters each are deliberate and remarkably thoughtful, even in how they interact and new information is doled out, it’s really good so far.
