Every female in this book is apparently very busty, and the author likes to let us know that

This books seems more interested in rehashing the exact same opening plot over and over again rather than telling a continuous story. And even when it does try to tell a story such as that, it resets the character’s understanding and growth repeatedly, which while interesting in concept, stunts any character growth. I don’t need to know the story of how Quinn and Sheridan met, I could have assumed it from before!

Cervantes ended the first book in the middle of a fight, literally saying “yeah so that was all that was written down, tune in next time to see if I can dig up any more about this dude” and I hate it as much as I respect it, dude used cliffhangers before they were cool

This book fucking rocks. The descriptions of the devils being like medieval nightmares, like something out of the tapestries they made are so inventive and cool, it’s biblical without that preachy feeling, the characters are so real and raw yet still human and kind despite it all, so good

Man fuck that fish thing, I wish this book had illustrations so I could see just how fucked up it was, it sounds like something right out of a medieval tapestry

Is the octopus omnipotent? He just snatched Cameron’s license and hid it for Tova to find, but like, why would he know that would help her?? We as readers just found out Tova now knows about Cameron’s mom, but Marcellus doesn’t know that, so what is this supposed to achieve in his eyes?

Ok so they just did an entire reveal with Cameron and Tova being related, and like, doesn’t that take the whole piss out of the rest of the book? Simon isn’t Cameron’s dad, it’s Erik (he’s got his high school ring, that’s why it says EELS on it, Erik Ernest Lindgren Sullivan) they look alike, act alike, all that. So why have the rest of the book if we know the big reveal??? I have to be missing something

For all the grief Tova has for her lost son Erik, she has almost none at all for her dead husband Will. We hardly know anything about the guy and yet. It’s like he’s haunting the narrative, so little is said about him despite all the memories Tova supposedly has with him.
