Gonna stop reading for tonight. I really enjoy this entry so far! It’s nice to examine Mackenzie’s perspective as the pizza rumor plot unravels!

She is determined, y'all!

A few of the chapters were surprisingly short. I like the descriptions of the settings, the unraveling of the main plot, and Bree and Nick's budding relationship.

+ and Nick's potentially misconception that Bree was poorly trained.

"His fingertips leave warm trails behind on my skin."

"The new skin is sensitive; when he wraps his palm around one arm, carefully turning it so he can examine me, I feel the callouses from where he's spent long hours practicing with a weapon."

I enjoy the buildup of Bree and Nick's relationship and Bree slowly regaining her memories, as hinted by her lack of knowledge of the Shadowborn.

Nick and Bree is so gonna be a lovely couple!

The possible parallels between the Legendborn and the upper classes are becoming more apparent.

The first few chapters contain a lot of exposition, but the amount makes sense in the first book.

I wonder if the magic symbolizes how black girls are silenced for speaking up against misogynoiristic crimes.
