Getting sooooo good! I just finshied Marcellus’ chapter where it’s revealed that he knows about Eric’s body, and he says that he wishes he could give all the stuff he found to her. How sweet. That one sentence just really opened up the story. I can’t wait to keep reading.

I liked the first chapter a LOT. Actually doing a deep dive into the cognitive science of the algorithm and how social media systems affect our brains was really interesting. I liked the comparisons to well known scientific phenomena, such as Pavlov’s dog. It makes things easy to understand despite being complex.

It’s good so far! I think the way Van Pelt writes grief is beautiful and really takes hold of your heart. I’m interested by the mystery that is being set up. Reading from such a unique animal’s perspective is delightful! I like Marcellus’ dry, matter of fact tone. I’m interested to see where this book will go.
