Continuing to outline why thinking, feeling, and choosing are essential to our daily life.

Pierre has talked about our thoughts and desires so far. Next is our choosing. I think he laying the foundation for arguments to come that will focus on heart change that leads to our thoughts, desires, and choices changing.

In this first chapter Pierre is arguing that all human problems involve our spiritual health. He is also arguing that we act based on 3 things in multiple different orders: Thinking, desiring, and choosing.

After the reading the introduction I am excited to read through some specific topics laid out in this book. To be honest I am a little nervous that I will get bored in the sections I’ve studied on previously. Praying that the Lord opens my heart to hear my brothers in Christ.

The author has talked about a number things, but I think most impactful for me has been his reminder of who our savior is. Jesus is the word, but the word alone is not him. He is complex, so focusing on one attribute can cause us to lose the forest for the trees. I’m am convicted to see Jesus as the living God and not as a historical figure to be admired.
