I dont know why, but I find Rey and Silla’s love scenes to be a little awkward. The man barely speaks for a book and a half but then has sooo much to say during the deed, it doesn’t ring true for me.

This chase scene through the woods had me cracking up! The visuals of Silla squealing shielding them from arrows, and bouncing backwards alone on Horse hauling ass was so funny. I could picture this playing out as a great scene in a show.

Thank GOD Rey figured out who she is!!!

Also I expected a harsher punishment from Rey for Jonas breaking his rule and lying. Not just a fist fight where he could fight back. Not saying I want a harsh punishment but it doesn’t seem to fit their hardcore reputation.

Jonas is falling hard, I’m nervous she’s not going to reciprocate she seems to be somewhat interested in Rey. It’s still not explained why he felt called to bring her along. It seems like they are related or childhood lost friends or something because of the shared dad phrases. I finally understand that Galdra means magic folk, that evaded me all this time. 😂

Silla is finally going to attempt to get this book from Kraki, it felt like we lost the plot for the last bit. I had to go back to remind myself what the blood axe crew are even doing all of this for, it’s been a lot of day to day stuff with a bit of action sprinkled in.

A little slow, budding romance between Silla and Jonas is nice. I’m glad she is starting to slowly win over the crew. No plan for getting that book so far…and sounds like her dad got her addicted to those leaves for her headaches.

Reading after seeing many rave reviews. It’s definitely intense, and more gory than I was expecting but that’s probably an oversight on my part. So don’t love the depictions of grotesque acts of violence, but it’s an intriguing plot that I’m excited to see play out. Silla just blatantly lied to Rey after an already impossible second chance of earning his trust. Stomach is clenching.

So far I’m struggling to like Kingfisher or Saeris. Her relentless bickering for the sake of being difficult is wearing on me. The attraction between the two of them makes no sense. I wasn’t interested in their first sexual interaction like other slow burns. I’m really hoping some new information comes to light to change how I look at their whole relationship because as of now I’m not sure
