I have met all four characters but only three have met each other. Joana, Emilia, and Florian are growing in character traits and background. Alfred is kinda just there writing love letters that he can’t send and working on the boat they all escape on based on the back of the book.

Really good so far. Sepetys writes so well that you don’t want to stop reading. Every page makes you want to turn to the next.

4 pages to go!! The hope looked lost after Linas mom died and Jonas got sick. The doctor came and rescued the people by healing them of their sickness!!

I just read the four pages! Android and Lina are married!! I love how Sepetys put the ending. In the future after the war. People are digging and find the letters and drawings! This was the best book I have ever read!!!

Getting good. The tension rising at the camp with everyone being hailed at night to sign. Jonas getting sick and the NKVD didn’t care. And the Christmas celebration was so cute until the NKVD dragged them out to go to the signing room.

We are reading it in English class at school. I think the first few chapters are boring. It’s getting interesting now and we are in chapter 8

This so far is amazing. Yes it’s a sad story but it is written beautifully and has portrayed the battle of the soviets and Stalin in world war 2 well. Loving so far and best book I have read in a while
