Decided to go for a hard book that was already on my shelf and holy crap! The introduction is 75 pages long? It’s like a summary of the story. Do I have to read all of this?

Alien communication is fascinating!

The arrival of the alien spacecraft had me at the edge of my seat! So many possibilities! And I’m glad the author took the time to describe it!
Just hit chapter 8.
Trying to keep going after knowing he might die out there. But again the book is called “Hail Mary” so I should have expected that.
What a fantastic year for space travel! Godspeed!

New space book lets gooo!

Here we go, the moment of truth, a year and a half on mars and he’s about to leave the Martian atmosphere.

“About f*cking time.”

I thought this dust storm was gonna cause Mark to panic or anything. Once again, he is managing to stay calm and figure things out. I guess you have to be patient to be a Botanist.

Im surprised this book is giving me so much anticipatory anxiety at this point of the book. I’m so close to the end! I gotta know what happens!

I loved how we got to see into each astronauts lives through their video feeds to their family. Poor Johanssen, I can see why Mark told her not to worry, she already going through a ton of stress and responsibilities as is.

It’s terrifying reading a usually resilient and upbeat man snap. I’m almost halfway through the book though. You can’t die yet, Watney!

The sudden shift in tone threw me off, until I realized that the author was trying to show a gradual sense of impending doom.

He found pathfinder! Hello old friend!

The horror from that poor woman who discovered Watney was still alive. Man I didn’t think that would happen.

I have paused on this book a while ago so I might as well put my progress down anyway.
