Absolutely amazing and fascinating. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to understand Washington beyond the polished idol or the reprehensible slave owner that many people make him out to be today. He was a complicated person, but a great man, and Ellis emphasizes this while also unabashedly illustrating his flaws.
