Okay so, maybe the author intends for the book to be hyper sexual but I'm finding it slightly strange. I'm 13% through and it already mentions incest, pedophilia, sexual assault/rape and numerous descriptions of sex. What was the point of her sister jokingly humping her about a man? We didn't need a description of the sister and step uncle having sex?? And the constant justification is WEIRD.

I just got past the part where they're both forced to be intimate with one another, and I'm actually so confused why people say that it's romanticised. The way it's written, it's absolutely horrific, not romantic. They were both raped.

I still have a lot more to read obviously, but I'm PRAYING that this book doesn't do some mind olympic reasoning to romanticise the oppressors. Not denying that there are nuances when it comes to civil wars, but it's feeling a bit off. ALSO IM BORED, new setting omgg. But I must have patience I know 😔😔

Straight away I loved the writing of this book, and the bond between the three girls. I like how the author has actually shown us the personalities of the three sisters and how they differ, but also that they didn't make Tru and Falina hatred for each other get in the way of reality. I thought it was very realistic, and actually showed DEPTH.
