I’m just so excited to have gotten an ARC of this one from Del Rey last month and finally able to jump in and be cozy!

I’ve yet to figure out why people don’t love this book as much as the first. The character development continues to fascinate and the exploration of their powers is such a compelling topic. Maybe it’s the eternal schoolgirl in me. Maybe its that I thrive in collegiate environments and recognize these characters from my own studies in more mundane topics, but I am absolutely loving every page of this story

I think I might be hate reading this book at this stage. The 180 switch on the characters for zero reason other than a gummy and some alcohol ruined what could have been a good book. Also, I love a good smutty read but from the premise of this book, it was not expected nor something I was looking for from this choice. Worried smut might be becoming a crutch for authors and publishers to sell a book.

Not disclosing that you were the driver of the car that killed the sister of the writer whose book you are adapting to screen is wild. Insane conflict of interest and absolutely damning regardless of the cause. This book has me seething in anger for Helen at Grant right now, and I’m struggling with how this will get near a happy ending.

Am I doing a reread because SenYiLu is converting this for traditional publishing? Yes! Am I supposed to be focusing on finishing 3 other books? Yes, absolutely. And yet here I am
