Yup. Gideon is definitely one spine tingling, creepy town.

This is, I think, the first fantasy book in which I've enjoyed a tale of what essentially amounts to bards.

Finally understand this gliskee business. Intrigued by Cade's "powers."

I love the mention of the unreasonably expensive Adirondack chair.

This is absolutely heartbreaking.

Nice ending but ten pages of respect doesn't counter over a hundred of horror.

Let's see. He hates children and is bitter towards women. Then he calls the female lead an ignorant female. I'm supposed to fall in love with this pompous arrogant ass later when he changes and sees the error of his ways? That'll be a trick.

Hero description: cold dark eyes, long black lashes, billionaire, lean, darkly handsome features, forbidding lines of restraint, clenched teeth, cold as ice, promiscuous. Sigh. THAT archetype. :(
