A Guidebook for the Newly Sired Desi Vampire by Samir’s Ahmed - 3.5 ⭐️
- this one was funny and faced paced
- a literal guidebook with themes of racism & colonialism

The Boy and the Bell by Heidi Heilig - 2⭐️
- low-key boring and slow, but the ending was satisfying
- a trans boy wants to be a doctor and is in a graveyard digging up cadavers when hears a bell ring, which indicates that someone has been buried alive… I wonder who/what it is

Senior Year Sucks by Julie Murphy - 3⭐️
- high school cheer captain who is also a vampire slayer. On their way back from an away game there is a car accident and one of the passengers is a young vampire who just wants to experience senior year.
- this was fun, but left me wanting more!!

The Boys From Blood River by Rebecca Roanhorse - 4.5 ⭐️
- I liked this one so much! It was giving riverdale vibes!
- queer native teenage boy accidentally summons the blood river boys (a group of vampires) and he has the opportunity to join them, but at what cost!?
- after reading this I can’t wait to read more by Roanhorse!

Seven Nights for Dying by Tessa Gratton - 2.5
- fast paced story of a teenage girl grappling with the possibility of becoming a vampire & she has seven days to decide.

Fizzy is pretty immature for a woman in her mid-30s

I haven’t laughed this much while reading a book in so long!!! I’m obsessed with the premise! However, Fizzy needs to take a chill pill. I get that Connor is super hot, but her comments are bordering objectification 🙃

This reads very YA/coming of age so far.
