Just finished book two, and it's just as good as the first book.

I'm about 1/3 of the way through, and I highly recommend this book. I'd heard of the Blue People of Kentucky, but had never heard of the librarians on horseback. So far it's sad, but interesting. I look forward to finishing it.

Just read 'No Filter' for my upcoming bookclub meeting. It was better than I thought it would be. Don't know why I initially thought it might be mediocre. Will read the rest of the books in the set after bookclub so I don't mix up what happened when.

It was very confusing at first keeping straight 2 Roberts, 2 or 3 Anne's, 2 Fitzwilliams, remembering who was married to whom, who was related to whom, and their various friends that pop up. I think I was almost halfway through the book before I finally got it all straight in my head.

I'm just over a 1/3 of the way through the book, and I hate to put it down for the day. This is historical fiction at it's finest. It makes me want to find a biography of Belle de Costa Greene.

I'm just starting book 3 and I agree with some of the other comments. Book 1 isn't great, but keep at it. Book 2 is much better. I have high hopes for the rest of the series.

So far, very depressing. I have to keep switching off to something lighter. I'll finish it eventually.

Finished Mansfield Park. Boy is that different from the movie. Some of the major plot points are the same, but some of the characterizations of people are different, and the whole thing with Tom's illness is completely different in the book.

I guess I should have known a book about the mid-west in the dust bowl era would be depressing, but the description said it was a love story. I haven't found the love story yet. Not in the mood for depressing, so I guess I'll finish this some other time. Off to read a mystery.

I've seen at least 6 different movie versions of this, and the Colin Firth version is the most faithful to the book. The only major thing left out is that Lizzie visits Jane on her way to and from the Collins', but nothing of note is really happens during those visits so it makes sense it was left out. There were some other concessions to it being a movie, but nothing major.

Finished Sense and Sensibility. Now on to Pride and Prejudice. I've seen multiple video versions of this, including one from the 30's or 40s' Where Lady Catherine actually approves of Darcy marrying Elizabeth. It's been so long since I read Jane Austen, it will be interesting to read the original again.

I'm currently re-reading Sense and Sensibility. It's been so long since I read it, I'd forgotten how different it is from any of the movie versions. I guess they'll all be like that.

This is a 12 book set. I didn't read much of the description on Amazon before I started reading. It didn't take long into the first book to realize this was YA fiction. Although, it's even a bit simplistic for YA. I don't know if I'll bother to finish all 12 books. I might have to take a break after the current one. It's yet another take on 'The Gift of the Magi'.

I love this series, and so far this book is no exception. I will say that if an author is going to use an expression and then have one character explain it to another character in the story, get it right! A pig in a poke has nothing to do with a bonnet.

Be warned - this book is more erotica than it is romance. It contains many explicit descriptions of sexual acts. If that doesn't turn you off, then read away. I'm only about a third of the way through, and stories so far stretch my ability to suspend my disbelief. Except for the story by Marie Force - that one was cute and sweet. And I love her Gansett Island series.

Through 7 of the 12 books and still enjoying them. I like the growing relationships between the characters as well as the mysteries. The relationships give the books a little more depth than your average cozy mystery of this length.

Through 2 more books of this 12 book set, and still enjoying them. They're relatively short as cozy mysteries seem to be, but the storytelling is tight so it's ok. I've read authors whose books are 125 to 175 pages who still manage to repeat themselves several times in the course of the book, so I really appreciate well constructed, tight stories. 9 more to go!

Just finished Croissants and Corruption and really enjoyed it. I'd swear I'd read it before, but that must have been before I started tracking my books in goodreads.Looking forward to the next book.

Having a hard time reading this one. It's just not holding my interest. If I didn't have to read it for book club, I'd probably just give it up. There's not one character in the book I care about.

This is a must read! I'm about halfway through it and don't want to stop reading. This book is about an author during the time just after WWII, and the people she corresponds with. It's written all as letters and telegrams, and it's wonderful. It's one of the wittiest and most entertaining books I've read in awhile.

The third story is better. There's finally some real character development, long arc series development, and a relationship that develops along a more normal timeline. I'm hoping this bodes well for the last three stories.
