I’m so conflicted with Aedric, he fights for El, and loves her, but does he really do it for her, or just for himself?

Uuurgh, Aedric, I can’t help but want to love him, but really and truly, does he deserve it???

I love all the repeated learnings in this book… wisdom or remarks from one character that is echoed back later in the book and applied to new situations.

Hands up if you are up for a bit of revenant smut!

Bit of a hidden gem, this one!

It’s sweet, but maybe a bit slow? It may just be me, I’ve been reading some dark stuff recently!!

There are some real continuity errors in this one, and one minute Willow seems ok, and then something happens and she is at the end of her tether. I’m also feeling like the romance is a bit forced. Again, one minute Gray is cruel, then the next it’s… I’ll fight for you. It’s just not quite chiming for me…

After a really strong start this is frustrating me a bit, elements of plot just seem to get dumped into the story every now and then. There is enough hanging to still keep me wanting to find out what happens …

Is it just me, or is Descenters an odd choice of name? Keeps making me think of room fragrances. I get it’s a play on dissent and descent… not sure it works though…

I’m really quite enjoying this at the moment. It’s a nice change. Silas is … well, let’s face it, morally black. My only gripe is where odd phrases slip in to a book that is set in old times London… butcher’s dumpster (nope, no dumpsters in London, then or now). Also phrases like ‘end me’… just a bit modern for the vibe of the book. That said, I’m being a bit picky… vibing along so far!

I think I’m enjoying this. It started off really strong, but I’m struggling with the writing style a bit. For me, there are just too many similes and metaphors, almost everything and everyone is described against something else. It makes it very descriptive, but it may be being used a bit too much for me now that I’m keyed in to it…
