HIGHLY recommend the audiobook for this one. It's like being on a 15-hour flight and sitting next to the most hilarious person you'll ever meet.

Possibly the best sentence I’ve read all year: “Dear John, I realize I’ve been out of touch, but a man’s been investigating my hip bones with his teeth.”

It's nice to read something that comes close to describing how angry I feel.

“Intelligence fades. Sex fades. The thrill fades. Where is all the wisdom that is supposed to compensate for the loss? But if his father’s death had taught him anything, it was that there was no real wisdom with age, only forced compliance.”

“... the cheapest, most pleasurable way for a country of strangers to get to know each other and the rest of the world is through reading.”

“The more people believe in a religion, the more they trust smudgy, paranoid newsletters printed off in a church basement by a woman named Debbie.”

Maybe something is lacking in the translation, but so far this book just seems super racist.
