Ok, new plan. I switched to a regular book. The narration was just too awful. And already it feels like a whole different book. *Now* I can enjoy the story. Whew.

I'm an hour into the audio and am trying desperately to either get used to the narrator, or die a little more inside so that my cold dead self will better relate to the monotonous droning. I've never heard a baby monk learning to chant, but I'm pretty sure that's what this is. It's a shame, too, because the story itself has my interest.

DNF. I tried. I really did, but the awful audio production just killed it for me. The sound effects and music was just too much. It turned what was supposed to be a thrilling adventure story into a low budget slapstick radio show. I got my Audible credit back. No thanks.

IDK how I missed that this is a heist story, but IT IS A HEIST. Few things I love more then a good heist.

Only once before have I started a book and DNF. I always wonder if things are going to get awesome in another chapter or several, so I keep going. Sometimes I'm right. Sometimes I'm not. I just don't have it in me to try this time. Book 1 was fun. It got my attention and kept it. It was an interesting world, with interesting obstacles, and interesting twists. Book 2 is more of the same. Literally the same. I'll pass.
