The way it’s presented as a history book makes me seem like it’s going to be challenging but i enjoyed the first chapter. Im intending on having this as a side book

And its boring again…

Another murder and slightly more intrigue. Although I’m still frustrated with how many conversations could be cut out of this book, I’m starting to get intrigued into the motives of the murders. It only took 220 pages!

Chapter 19 was surprisingly okay. Finally starting to discuss conspiracy and the murder itself rather than lavatories and flower festivals.

Took 100 pages to get to the ‘murder’ and nearly another 100 in and nothing is happening. theres a whole chapter where Daniel goes to a school to do assembly and i rolled my eyes to the back of my skull as they sang hymns. The only redeeming characters in this book are Audrey (sometimes), Honoria and Alex. And i only say Honoria and Alex because “maybe” something exciting may happen. It also could not.

The book is full of grandiloquence to try and make up for the shallow one dimensional characters and boring scenes.
