the way this book captures storytelling as the survival of history, culture, dignity, courage, and the facilitator of an intimate understanding of everything it is to be human is so beautiful. i’m glad i finally felt brave enough to pick this book back up, and i hope i don’t cry on the train reading it again this time (but i have a feeling i will…)
