If you want to read a book that has the plot of an after school hallmark movie special, this is your book. The writer is excellent in his descriptions and his weaving of characters, but the story itself is just very boring. I found it a slog to get through.
Also got really churchy at the end, which caused me to largely skim read from page 290-355. I genuinely cannot recommend it to my friends.
