This wasn’t my first time trying to prepare a meal while dodging the fangs of a dead child who wished me bodily harm.🫣

حلم هارفي ⭐⭐⭐⭐

لا شيء أفظع من رؤية باطن الإنسان، سواء تشريحياً أو أخلاقياً..

الفتاة الهاربة ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

كأنني كنت أتدرب طوال الوقت من أجل هذا اليوم..

لقد خلعت الزواج كما تخلع امرأة صندلها من قدميها عندما تقرر الركض بسرعة حقاً..

اكتفوا بذكر أنها كانت تثير المتاعب في المدرسة، و كأن ذلك قد يبرر اقدام حبيبها على الانقضاض عليها وخنقها.. وكأنها، بطريقة ما، استحقت مصيرها. لم يصرحوا بذلك علانية، لكن فيف أمكنها قراءته بين السطورــــ أي فتاة كانت لتستوعبهُ ، إن كنتِ سيئة.. إن كنتِ لعوباً فقد يحيق بكِ هذا المصير.

"لابد من وجود شيء ما في الكتب.. لابد من وجود أشياء لا نستطيع تصورها ،اشياء تجعل إمرأة تبقي في منزلها الذي يحترق لتحترق مع كتبها فالناس لا تصمد إلا عن مبدأ"

ـ لسنا في حاجة إلى أن نُترك وشأننا. نحتاج في الحقيقة إلى أن نُزعَج بين حين وآخر، كم مضى من الوقت منذ أُزعجت حقاً؟ بخصوص أمر هام، بخصوص أمر حقيقي؟“.

• غير أن الخوف الذي إجتاحها اليوم كان عميقاً و مُباغتاً كـضربة تُصيب بالشلل، للمرة الأولى في حياتها تجلت لها حقيقة كم هي قابلة للمحو والتلاشي، يمكن لها أن تختفي، أن تتبخر ببساطة..

-كيف تنتهي الحال بالفتيات دائماً عاريات، جثثاً هامدة كـ حيوانات الطريق المدهوسة! و كيف لا يشفع لكِ خوفكِ ولا حذركِ ! فالضحية قد تكونين أنتي في أي لحظة، خاصة هنا.. قد تكونين أنتي دائماً..

-Fear was twisting inside of me, a wobbling cup of panic that threatened each moment to spill.

I did not care. I did not plan to live after he was gone..

- I could recognize him by touch alone,, by smell; I would know him blind, by the way his breaths came and his feet struck the earth. I would know him in death, at the end of the world..

“And perhaps it is the greater grief, after all, to be left on earth when another is gone. Do you think?”

- No one spoke to me. I was easy to ignore.. It was not so very different from home, really.

تتـعود ... يا لها من كلمة!! هذا ما تفعله مع الخيول،، إذ تروضها،، وتجعلها تتعود، إلى أن تصبح خيولاً مستهلكة ثم ترسلها إلى مصانع الغراء.. شعر بأن المجاز على الرغم أنه كان مسرحياً إلا أنه كان واقعياً.

" يـنام الحزن و لكنه لا يموت، على الأقل ليس قبل أن يموت أهله."

I was so desperate to be loved, I hadn’t bothered to look too closely.. Desperate to not be alone anymore. Yet here I was. Alone.

- It’s easy to recognise people with bad intentions when you know what it is like to be one.

- but there are some people we never really let go of in life. Or death. Even when we pretend to. They are always still there, lurking in our loneliest thoughts, haunting our memories with dreams that can no longer come true.

- There are things children choose not to see in their parents; sometimes it is best to walk past a mirror without stopping to look at your reflection.

- I think when we finally get what we think we want, it loses its value. It’s the secret nobody ever shares, because if they did, we would all stop trying.
